Water Cooler Talk from Two Guys Wearing Sweaters
- Week 13 -
Is it our imagination, or did Elisabeth somehow manage to look better and better as her weeks in the Outback went on? Oddly, her hair has always looked nice, she always seemed to show up with different, fashionable eyewear all the time, and she has always looked nice & clean. We can't help but wonder if there will be some cosmic force that will cause her to look all scungy and greasy after she has a chance to shower. Weird.
Well anyway... Elisabeth opened this week's show by missing her pal, the most recent bootee, Rodger. Everyone spent a little time missing their families, and losing their minds by pretending to go to the grocery store.
Elisabeth defies several laws of physics by looking better as the show goes on.

The group got their Tree Mail to notify them about their upcoming Reward Challenge, which will be known from here on out as "Just Give Some More Stuff to Colby."
The challenge this week was a combination of a bunch of previous challenges, including the blindfolded, shackled thing, the annoying puzzle, the rope challenge that Colby cheated on before, and the whacky flaming bucket deal.
Needless to say, Colby won the challenge. His reward was a Pontiac Aztec which, through some amazing coincidence, happens to be one of the show's sponsors. He had the opportunity to spend the night in the Aztec, which turns into a bed/tent as a convenience for people who like to sleep while driving.
Colby checks out his Yellowmobile and wonders how the heck he's going to get it home.
|
Of course, the disadvantage of winning the car was that the only way for Colby to get to enjoy the car back in Dallas is if he drives it back home from Australia, which will be a bit of a challenge for anyone who is familiar with geography.
Back at camp, Elisabeth started yanking big hunks of hair out of her head, which was apparently easy to accomplish due to malnutrition. If this had happened to Keith or Colby they would have been left with a large, obvious bald spot... but Elisabeth used her magic powers to automatically form an impressive comb-over.
While Colby and Keith grow tons of extra Outback Hair, Elisabeth loses some of her locks.

The group had a chance to weigh themselves after a scale mysteriously appeared at camp. They determined that the four of them had lost a combined total of 85 pounds during their experience. Of course for Keith and Tina, much of that weight was lost in brain cells... again, not that we're bitter about them voting Amber off a couple weeks back.
Colby headed off to a Secret Location to meet his new car, and take his Reward Shower. The Colbster had one more surprise as part of his reward: a visit from Mom. Mrs. Donaldson surprised her son by delivering food to him, and they had a chance to chat about his experiences.
Colby showers while mom snaps photos to add to her thorough "Colby's Hygiene '01" photo album.

We're not going to suggest for a moment that there's anything unusual about Colby's relationship with his mother, but we just couldn't help but notice that she took a picture of him while he was taking his shower. Let's just put it right out of our minds.
In the morning Colby introduced his mother to Tina, Elisabeth and Keith. Mrs. Donaldson filled the group in on some news developments, like the winner of the World Series, etc. At least she knew what was going on in the world... Remember in Survivor I when Sean's father visited the tribe and didn't know much of anything about what was going on?
Before Colby's mom took the Michael Skupin Memorial Helicopter to head for home, she left care packages for each of the remaining Survivors.
Jeff Probst removes the Immunity Thing from Colby's head, even though it has nearly grown permanently attached.

Time for the Immunity Challenge, hereafter known as the "Colby Wins Immunity So Don't Even Bother Trying Challenge." This time the challenge was a memory-oriented game. Numerous items, including some great treats like kangaroo doots, were hidden underneath some fancy giant hat things. The tribe members had to remember what was hidden where so they could match items up to collect them.
As you probably guessed, Colby won immunity for the fourth time in a row. For convenience, Jeff Probst simply tattooed the word "IMMUNITY" on Colby's neck, which matched his "Mom" tattoo rather nicely.
Well, sweet little Elisabeth got the boot this time around, earning her a seat next to her pal Rodger on the jury. Just three folks remain -- Tina, Keith and Colby. Next week we'll get to see who won... and the following Thursday we'll go to bed at a reasonable hour!
